| Matt and I attended tonight's taping of MTV's Spoilers in Los Angeles, and as promised, MTV played clips from their time on the set of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
There were several interview clips with Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Jessie Cave, and (in a dark and eerie Great Hall) David Yates. Between interview clips were several shots of the trio and other actors on a snowy set. Mr. Yates noted that the previous five films were dark, where with the sixth film they're "having a laugh."
MTV also released a "Spoiler" that is already well-known to diehard Potter fans: they've added a new scene where there is an attack on The Burrow. David Yates briefly discusses this. Afterward, an MTV reporter was in our audience and asked a Potter fan fan what she thought of the additional scene (she was more concerned with making sure Harry and Ginny get in their kiss).
Additionally, MTV has released another article teasing the upcoming look at the film. You can see it right here (thanks, Terrance) along with two new pictures from the report you'll see during MTV's Spoilers. Be sure to check it out for yourself this Saturday at 8 PM on MTV!

| MuggleNet founder and webmaster Emerson Spartz celebrates his 22nd birthday today! And can you believe its been 10 years since he started this website? Little 12-year-old Emerson launched the site in October of 1999. Hundreds of Wall of Shame submissions , thousands of news posts, and millions of "GO IRISH" chants later, he's the reason why the site is what it is today.
On behalf of the MuggleNet staff and its visitors, Happy Birthday buddy! And visitors, don't forget to leave Emerson a birthday wish in the comments and on MuggleSpace.

| Do you have what it takes to be the next Potter Podcaster? Have you ever listened to your favorite podcast and thought, "I can do that!" -- well here’s your chance!
As we mentioned on Episode 170, HPEF and MuggleCast are teaming up to create The Next Biggest Podcast Idol Survivor - a contest and endeavor to make the next great Harry Potter podcast. The competition culminates on Monday, July 20, when the winners will get the chance to podcast live from AZKATRAZ in San Francisco, California as part of the Podcast Palooza.
PART I: AUDITIONS
Post your audition reel to YouTube with the title "HPEF The Next Biggest Podcast Idol Contest -- (insert your name here )" by March 15, 2009, to be eligible for the contest. You MUST be registered for AZKATRAZ to enter the contest and be at least 14 years of age to enter. Those under the age of 18 as of July 18, 2009, must e-mail pr@hp2009.org a copy of the notarized chaperone form you submit when registering. After posting your YouTube video, e-mail pr@hp2009.org with a link to your video. You must also include the following information: Real Name (not your fandom name), age, e-mail, and phone.
PART 2: ANNOUNCING THE WINNERS
A panel of judges (consisting of hosts from the podcasts HPEF Presents and MuggleCast) will choose the top 5 audition tapes and announce the winners on a special edition of HPEF Presents.
PART 3: MAKING THE PODCAST
Once the winners are chosen, the work begins! At this point, the hosts will work with our judges to name the podcast, define their individual roles, make a website, come up with a theme song, design the format of the show, come up with new and exciting content, record & edit a first show, promote their show, and much more!
PART 4: THE BIG TAMALE
Finally our new podcasters will have the chance to get their feet wet; there’s no time to waste, so they'll jump right in! The culmination of this contest will, of course, be recording a live podcast at AZKATRAZ's Podcast Palooza event this summer. Having worked with the judges for months in preparation for this event, the Podcasters will put on a live podcast by themselves in front of the entire AZKATRAZ conference. We will see if this podcast can become the next great Harry Potter podcast!
The entire process will be documented on HPEF Presents, MuggleCast, and YouTube. For questions, please e-mail pr@hp2009.org.
